Lysa TerKeurst writes devotions for a blog called Proverbs 31 Ministries. Yesterday, a parent forwarded us an email of an excellent devotion about parenting a strong-willed child. We thought you might want to read it. Dads, this devotion was written to moms, but I believe you will get a lot of out it. The concept is not just for moms.

A sermon for parents
Yesterday, Pastor Farrell delivered a great message about parents' relationship with their children from Colossians 3.
"Living in relationship with Jesus Christ must positively enhance and impact our relationships with others."
"Parents are directed to build discipline and encouragement into their children." Colossians 3:21, Ephesians 4:6

Selfish Box
I was talking with a parent in Winner's Circle the other day about a discipline teaching technique they use at their house and I thought it was worthy of sharing:
Whenever the children in their house fight over or argue over a toy, the parents take the item away and put in the the "Selfish Box" for a period of time to remind the children of their selfish attitude towards that toy.
This really helps children to understand that they shouldn't fight over things, but it also gets to the heart of the problem - selfishness.
Thanks Chris!
